Improve your pull ups!

How can I improve my pull ups?

If you’re not yet able to perform a strict pull up or chin up, give this a go.

This variation is called an eccentric rep (or negative rep) and is great for building strength and confidence with movements like pull ups or chin ups.

Grab the bar tight, use a box or a bench to help you up to the top of the rep and then lower yourself as slowly as you can. Throw some of these in between other exercises in your training programme and within a few weeks you’ll be a lot closer to unassisted reps.
